Crysis and Hellgate London Demos

This month, both the demos for the much awaited Crysis and Hellgate London were released. Unfortunately, not all of them hit the mark. Here a brief review...

Crysis is a FPS and is the most highly anticipated game of 2007. Why? Simply because it is set to revolutionize the PC gaming scene with its high-end graphics and state-of-the-art gameplay. After playing through the first level, I would have to say that it feels quite been-there-done-that. I mean, holding a gun, running around killing people stealthily etc, what's so new about that? But honestly, I am hooked to the game. Though the demo only has the 1st level, I have replayed that 3 times already. It certainly has high replay value for you (yeah you in the nanosuit) can do things and finish your missions in a variety of ways. The graphics looks awesome even on a lame g-card like mine, and the enemy AI is pretty smart. So overall, I would have to say that this game (just the first level) is good, but not great. Certainly fun especially with the "xtra bionic abilities".

Rating : 8.5/10

PS: Why do all aliens look like a War of the Worlds copy? Tripods and such. zzz.

Now for Hellgate London. The ads and videos that were released for this game were stunning. But the gameplay is NOT. This is not a joke. Hellgate London sucks so much that I did not even bother playing the entire (small) demo. It should just be renamed Hell. =.=

Rating : 4/10

Now all that's left is my most anticipated game of the year. No it isn't Crysis. It is... Gears of War for the PC. LoL

Yes GoW is probably one of the best games to have come out in a while for both a console and the PC but I have seen some of the clips on youtube about Crysis and OMG it looks amazing! I think it looks too much like Farcry with the story changed a little but all in all it looks like an amazing game. I hope they can come up with a nice mmorpg for the xbox but one can only hope.
