These are the reviews that I have been too lazy to post...

The Veronicas - Hook Me Up + Britney Spears' Blackout
Lets see, 2 new pop albums that many were looking forward to. How do they match up?
First off, both these albums are have a very techno feel to it. Too much production I guess. It's the kind of album that leaves you wondering "how on earth can they perform this live?" especially Blackout.
Hook Me Up is The Veronicas sophomore effort where they try to bring listeners to the dance floor. Most of the songs try to sound cool but turn out kinda blend because most of them sound the same. There are not many songs that can match their debut album. However, some of them are really good like the hit single Hook Me Up, the infectious Take Me On The Floor and the opener, Untouched (set to be the 2nd single).
After a few listens, the album does tend to sound better, though still not up to expectation.

Now for Britney's album. Blackout is Britney's "long-awaited" comeback album. As we all know, she is in a mess and unfortunately the album does not help change anyting. For the most part, the album sounds pretty lame and does have many radio-friendly songs. The hit single Gimme More is about as good as it gets. Another song worth listening to would be Break The Ice. Second single Piece of Me is definitely not up to par with her previous efforts which leaves me thinking how bad the rest of the singles are gonna be.
Try to skip this one unless you are a HUGE fan of Spears.
